Researcher read the 1880 census of Ark. the N.C. may be b. a Mo.?
2. Book, Carroll Co., Families: THESE WERE THE FIRST, Carroll Co., Arkansas 1991 compiled by Jim Lair. Fam. Hist. Lib. S.L. City, Utah 84150.
He left N.C. then into TN. This book says they moved into Northwest Arkansas around 1829, in that they were
enumerated on the Federal census of 1830 for Washington Co., AR. It also says he was born circa 1800. This would
make him the first born child?
3. Later, the family moved into what became Madison Co., AR.

They were farmers. The Harp family had long called the Am. Civil war a "War of Rebellion."
When the American Civil War began-the Harp family moved into the state of
Illinois for a time, then back to Barry Co., Mo., and finally back into Northwest AR when the War ended.
Back to Winona Twp Carroll Co., Arkansas Prairie Twp 1869-1870 (1830 census page 10 line 7) On the 1840 census
eleven in the family.

In a "copy" of the 1860 census Flat Creek P.O. Mountain Twp 1206-1180 said he was 38 years of age (1822),if it
was read correctly, he was under A. Harp and Nancy J. and was recognized because of the children's names.
4." Absolom Harp enlisted in the union Army, Civil War, 6 of June 1861, in Co Stone County, Missouri Home Guards.
He was discharged 15 Nov 1862. He filed application for invalid pension from Woodson, Kansas. Application # 857
687
and received pension on certificate #715 631. Nancy Harp applied for pension after his death, 26 Sept 1896 from
Toronto, Woodson Co., Kansas."

4. They are in the 1880 c prairie twp p. 260-62, film no. 1,254,040, listing two children and wife. "Tolbert Harp,57,
(1823) born in Tn, father born in Ala and mother. He worked in a sawmill. Martha his wife is 52,(1828) born TN and
father and mother from Ala. Jeramire (sic) is 32, he works on the farm, born in AR.,father and mother from TN.
James is 25, works in the sawmill, born in AR, mother and father from TN."

His widow Mary applied 3 May 1894; app #614 085, from Arkansas.

And have two Mery-Mary's. One the Mary's are wrong. I did them as one Mary because it was very unlikely that the two was b. and died on the same date. However she could have married twice, and another re searcher's way of recording two marriages? This needs more research.

She lists two Mary harp, one M. H. but one born and died on the same date? Twin?

Louis" is 54 (1826) a farmer born TN, Nancy wife, is 41 (1839)(?) a housekeeper, born in TN, Dalise M. is 23 (1857)
daughter, not employed, born in AR, Arrena, (my g.grandmother) is 20 (1860) born in AR, James is 17 (1863), son, who works on the farm, born in AR, and Lewis Jr.(Jr. is not behind the name) he is 16 (1864), works on the farm, born in AR. Malinda Stone is listed as a boarder. She is 67 (1813) and probably the Mother to Nancy born in TN.
Living next door #8,is William Harp (1853) and Mary (1846). They have three children James L who is five, George M who is 3 and Francis L who is 2.

Sarah had been born in Tennessee during 1832 and she was barely fourteen years of age at the time of her marriage. Eight children were born to the union of James and Sarah (Clark) Harp."...

From Ancestral File (TM), data as of 2 January 1996. This record says Anna was married to James Henderson as well as Arena but does not have Anna there. Maybe she is the same person and went by Anna? I did add her on
because she was on the 1850 Census as Anna.
