Vaughan Cherokee Connections, MtDNA

"A group of people in Lawrence County, Tennessee have formed the "Cherokee Nation of Lawrence County, Tennessee", claiming that they are descendants of Cherokees that avoided the Trail of Tears. And, they claim that they have had some "proven full-blood Cherokee" members tested for both Y-DNA and MtDNA and they have ALL come back different types then the accepted five Haplogroups (for MtDNA) A,B,C,D and X. Many of them are coming back with Jewish Haplogroups.
I recommend reading the book 'America B.C." by Barry Fell if you are at all interested in learning about the evidence of pre-Colombus Europeans (and other cultures as well) travelers/migrants to the Americas that very likely could have contributed to this odd DNA connection to Native Americans
The chief, Joe "Sitting Owl" White is claiming that the Cherokee Indians were the "Lost tribes of Israel" that came across the Atlantic long ago and settled in NC and TN as well as Georgia. As crazy as that is, there has not been much to refute his claims -- at least about the Jewish Haplogroups.

How Jewish DNA got into "pure blood" Cherokees is curious. Even if the Lawrence County group is just another group of con artists trying to get recognition for their 'tribe' and are not Indian at all, the mere fact that many of the group having so many Jewish Haplogroups in their number is very unusual. Also found a hint of some scientific credibility to this claim within a scholarly document dealing with Jewish Haplogroups.
It seems that some small traces of Jewish Haplogroups had been detected in some Indian (not necessarily Cherokee) test subjects. The Scientists suspect the DNA is very, very old, older then the Bering Land Bridge time frame and simply shows central Asian DNA that spread in two different directions.

But since some of the Lawrence County Cherokee are stating that some of their "pure bloods"also have Haplogroup H, my contact made the suggestion that maybe Fereby could have been Cherokee after all. Read the group's public statement here:
http://www.cherokeeoflawrencecountytn.org/PressRelease.pdf ?

There is somewhat of a cover-up in Genetic journals about the presence of non Indian DNA in Indian populations. They also mention that MtDNA type X is also found in Europe and Asia, so it could be another "European" DNA example."

I have known about this connection for many many years. I have also worked on about 22 to 28,000 descendants of the Cherokee tribes working on genealogy records for a group formed to do this for the LDS church in 1990. Myself and our group leader were all part Cherokee, and heard of the many Cherokee prophecies. He knew Book of Mormon backgrounds with the Laminites posterity's, and had correlated it with the American Indian tribes including, of course, the Cherokee writing, culture and studying it intensely. I've never met anyone that knew more about the American Indians including a college professor that was also very knowledgeable, however he didn't connect his knowledge to any B.O.M. data's.

He had studied every tribe and showed me, using the Book Of Mormon, that all the tribes in America here before Columbus were not all "Laminites" or Indian. But all, except the servant Ismael, were Jewish (Known as Nephites in this book, that was called white.) This fact would confuse the Y-DNA because these people and ancestry would not show up as Indian. (Fairaby-Fareby, i.e. descendants)
The Cherokee tribe (mostly of this Nephite tribe) has branched out into different tribes. and I'm from two of them. Both according to these readings in the B.O.M. were mostly white (Jewish). Remember they conquered/captured in their battles taking their white women and children (Nephites) as slaves but of course married and/or had more children. However, even so, remember both are of the Jewish tribes (More especially Sara's other "female" children who carried this Y-DNA) and would be Nephi's sisters.
Yes, the Vaughan's ancestry did come over from the Atlantic and its background is Jewish! (Exceptions are the servant, Ishmael, that came with them and had daughters and married into this tribe.)
If your doing and want to prove and improve the Y-DNA please study the Book of Mormon and descendant's and you'll prove this faster and more accurate with the rest real story. This line has become redundant and at a stalemate because of the narrow mindedness of the group inability to connect correctly.

First of all, I have seen their study at FTDNA and the 89 in the study are not full bloods as they claim

"And, they claim that they have had some "proven full-blood Cherokee" members tested for both Y-DNA and MtDNA and they have ALL come back different types then the accepted five Haplogroups (for MtDNA) A,B,C,D and X. Many of them are coming back with Jewish Haplogroups."

There are only 3 members of this group of 89 that have "Jewish" DNA markers according to Alan Greenspan.

They may be "Jewish" but are these individuals actually Cherokee, or any tribe of Indian at all. I doubt it.

I have seen the DNA reports on these 89 individuals. The most prominent one is the ex-chief of the Central Band of Cherokee, Joe Sitting Owl White . His DNA shows 100% European, and 0% Native American!! TRUE ENOUGH, he may be Jewish but Native American he is NOT!!

Nephi, Laman and Lemuel were sent back to Jerusalem to get the brass plates and encourage Ishmael's family to join them.

Zoram was the servant of Laban.

I find this very intriguing...finding some cherokee in my own family tree (I am 1/32nd) and recently finding out that my father has in his possession a VERY OLD hebrew bible that has been passed down in our family....I recommend reading the book 'America B.C." by Barry Fell if you are at all interested in learing about the evidence of pre-Colombus european (and other cultures as well) travelers/migrants to the Americas that very likely could have contributed to this odd DNA connection to Native Americans. Just a thought, will we be denying our "native Earthling" status if we find out that somewhere along the line some of us picked up some extra-terrestrial genes and concequently are somehow related to some alien race on some distant planet someday? I have lived in the US SW my whole life and that's "NATIVE AMERICAN" as far as I'm concerned...regardless of whether my roots include aboriginal american tribal people's blood or not....
