2. James Isam Sanders, born July 20, 1848 in Indiana; died October 16, 1874 in Vaughan Cemetery, Hindsville, AR. He was the son of 4. Simon Sanders and 5. Wilmet Way. He married 3. Emily Vaughan.
3. Emily Vaughan, born August 30, 1853 in Arkansas; died March 10, 1874 in Vaughan, Cemetery, Hindsville, AR. She was the daughter of 6. Andrew Jackson Vaughan and 7. Mary Roller.

Notes for Anderson Sanders: Jackson Vaughn gave them a tract of land near Spring Valley.
Three Sanders Brothers married Three Vaughn sisters. The Parents of
George Allen Sanders and Willie Frances Sanders died in the big flu
epidemic and were raised by Anderson and Catherine.
Catherine had an infant at the time and had to send Willie to a black mammy to be nursed until he was weaned.
Anderson and Catherine raised their daughter Nora's two daughters also.
Anderson fought in the Civil War. The slaves were freed and given 5acres of land each. The y all stayed to help Catherine during the war.Anderson ran up War Eagle Valley to escape the carpet baggers.
Catherine boiled dirt under the smoke house to get salt.
They could see cannon fire at Pea Ridge from the House

Didn't believe in dance, but had big jolly boys that would pick her up and swing her around be cause she was so small.
Catherine traveled to Washington and California.

6. Andrew Jackson Vaughan, born February 02, 1815 in Tennessee; died December 29, 1882 in Madison County, Arkansas. He was the son of 12. Samuel P. Vaughan and 13. Martha Catharine (Hands)Hammons. He married 7. Mary Roller June 14, 1846 in Barry County, Missouri.

Notes for Andrew Jackson Vaughan:
1850 census shows A.J. was born in TN, records show they came from Russell Co, VA, he was in h ouse hold #76, next to his father Samuel, in Paririe Township, Madison County, AR. He is listed as a "B. Minister" on the 1850 census.

In Warren County, Tennessee, Grant # 5670, State of Tennessee to Samuel Vaughn, assignee of Peter Turney, 20 acres lying Warren County in the third District on the waters of Rocky River, June 4, 1814. Is this our Samuel??
Samuel is on the 1850 Madison County, Arkansas census in Paririe Township, #75
It is said Samuel Vaughan's eyes were an intense blue color.
The Vaughn's except Catherine Vaughn Sanders are burried in Vaughn Cemetary, Northwest Arkansas.

Hello,
Does anyone have any info on Emily Vaughan and husband James Isam or Isam Sanders.
They are my g g grandparents. They had two children, George Allen Sanders and William "Will"
Sanders. George was born in 1871 and Will was born in 1873. Both parents died, Will was three months old when mother Emily Sanders died in Mar of 1874, Isam died in Oct 1874. Would like to know what happened to parents.
