However, we would look to the children of this historic couple and the contributions those children made to the development in NW AR Ozark Region."

James Harp

It is of James Harp, s/o of John and Lucy [Vaughan] Harp. It is a photograph with charcoal coloring. Early times, photographer would visit farming areas and take pictures of farming family in out-of-the-way places, like up country roads. So the orginial picture was taken in his regular clothes, then later the charcoal coloring was added and the uniform was drawn on the photo. James Harp was 35 year old when mustered into the civil war on Jun 24, 1862 (according to his discharge papers.) This picture appears to be of a younger man. Lewis and William joined at the same time as James according to Also Thomas Clark who was married to James sister Lucinda, appeared to have been mustered on Jun 24, 1862.

..."James Harp was born 28 April 1828, in Warren County, Tennessee as a son of John and Lucy Harp. Exactly when the Harp family moved into the Northwest Arkansas Ozark Region is not known, but James Harp was in Washington County by 1846 because he was united in marriage with Sarah Clark there on 1 April, of that year, with Robert Garrett, a Justice of the Peace, performing their ceremony. Sarah had been born in Tennessee during 1832, was barely fourteen years of age at the time of her marriage. Eight children were born to the union of James and Sarah (Clark) Harp."...
James Harp enlisted in the Union Army 24 Jun 1862 at Cassville, Barry Co., MO. PVT/PVT Discharged 23 Aug 1865 "Sarah was know as Sally"
He served during the Civil War in Co. E 1st Arkansas Cav and Co. B 1st Arkansas Cav. He was injured in the Civil War and crippled.

Jack Mason was married to Joan Sue Brewer and they had 2 children, Katherine 21 March 1959 (I don't have the full names of Katherine's children, so I will send those later. Kimi Leah 30 October 1991, Richard 23 May1995 John Charles 3 March 1962 married to Dorothy Lee 21May1967 , off springs: Christina Lee Mason 08 August 1995, Daniel Todd Mason 14 December 2000, Kayla Kim Mason 15 August 2007.
